2 Dead in Visalia Auto Accident on Highway 99 and Avenue 48

 
VISALIA, CA (March 16, 2021) – Friday afternoon, two people died in a crash on Highway 99 and Avenue 48 near Visalia.
 
The incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. on northbound Highway 99, just south of Avenue 48.
 
According to officers, the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet headed north on Highway 99. Then, the vehicle a 2003 Toyota pulling a trailer from the rear.
 
Afterward, the Chevrolet crashed with the rear of the trailer. As a result, the 2003 Toyota traveled out of control into the east side of the freeway until it overturned.
 
The impact ejected a 30-year-old male Toyota passenger in the Toyota. Authorities confirmed that he didn’t wear a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Thus, he sustained fatal injuries. Also, a 27-year-old woman from San Diego died inside the Toyota after the crash.
 
On the other hand, responders took the Toyota driver to a local hospital with minor injuries.
 
The Chevrolet driver suffered no injuries.
 
Also, authorities do not believe that alcohol played a role in the crash.
