2 Hurt in Everett Head-on Accident on Interstate 5 and 41st Street
EVERETT, WA (February 10, 2021) -On Tuesday morning, two people sustained injuries in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 and 41st Street.
According to State Patrol trooper Rocky Oliphant, the incident happened at around 9:30 a.m. A southbound 1998 Toyota Camry entered I-5 at 41st Street in the northbound lanes, knocking over signs. Then, less than a mile from the on-ramp, the Camry collided head-on with another sedan.
Afterward, responders transported the wrong-way driver to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment. Meanwhile, the driver of the other sedan sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Also, reports revealed that the female driver of the wrong-way vehicle may have suffered a medical incident while driving.
Furthermore, authorities closed four or five lanes of I-5 to give way to the investigation.
All lanes of I-5 were reopened to traffic as of 11:30 a.m.
