2 Hurt in San Diego Plane Accident on Kearny Villa Road

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 16, 2020) – Sunday afternoon, two people suffered injuries in a plane crash on Kearny Villa Road near Montgomery Field.
 
The incident involving a single-engine Cessna plane occurred at about 12:50 p.m. Moreover, the small plane crashed near 4200 Kearny Villa Road.
 
As a result, the two people on board, the pilot and co-pilot, suffered minor injuries.
 
“Upon take off from the runway, headed west, they experienced a power failure and made an emergency landing on Kearny Villa Road,” stated Chris Babler, San Diego Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief.
 
Babler added that the plane was at around 50 feet when they suffered a power failure. Then, the plane went into an emergency landing mode. Afterward, it crashed through the fencing onto Kearny Villa Road.
 
The crash didn’t affect any motorist.
 
Meanwhile, the officials are dealing with a fuel leak.
 
Despite the crash, the incident didn’t lead to a fire.
