2 Hospitalized after Seattle Accident on Highway 70
SEATTLE, WA (June 15, 2020) – Saturday morning, two people suffered injuries in a Metro bus crash on 3rd Avenue in downtown Seattle.
At around 9:00 a.m., officers and fire crews came to the crash scene on Spring Street.
According to emergency officials, a Metro bus crashed into a car and a pole on 3rd Avenue. As a result, the driver was trapped in the wreckage. Moreover, one of the car’s two occupants suffered injuries. Moreover, the only passenger on the bus suffered minor injuries, Torie Rynning of King County Metro revealed.
When the authorities arrived, they located a King County Metro bus against a pole. The crews extricated the driver. Then, responders took the driver to Harborview Medical Center with lower back and left leg injuries, Rynning added.
Furthermore, responders took the injured occupant of the car and the bus passenger to Harborview.
After a preliminary investigation, the officers determined that the Highway 70 articulated bus was traveling north on 3rd Avenue. However, the crashed with the westbound car on Spring Street.
Afterward, the bus hit the pole and stopped.
Due to the crash, the police shut down the streets and advised motorists to use alternate routes.
