David Rapier and Jill Pittman Hospitalized After Motorcycle Crash on Highway 50 in Cole County
Cole County, Mo (September 27, 2024) – On Friday night, David Rapier and Jill Pittman sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash on Highway 50.
A man and a woman from Jefferson City sustained serious injuries following a motorcycle crash in Cole County on Friday night, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Highway 50, about half a mile west of Route D.
David Rapier, 60, of Jefferson City, was driving a 1998 Honda Goldwing motorcycle westbound on Highway 50 with passenger Jill Pittman, 45, also from Jefferson City, when the motorcycle’s rear tire blew out.
This caused Rapier to lose control, and the motorcycle overturned, ejecting both Rapier and Pittman.
Both individuals were seriously injured. Rapier was airlifted to University Hospital, while Pittman was transported to the same hospital by Cole County EMS.
According to the report, neither were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
