Injuries Reported in Oakland Auto Accident on 64th Avenue and International Boulevard

OAKLAND, CA (November 17, 2024) – Friday afternoon, an alarming hit-and-run crash on 64th Avenue and International Boulevard injured 2.

Reports said that the crash involving a hit-and-run driver and a Tempo Line 1T bus happened at about 4:20 p.m. It occurred in the bus-only lane on 64th Avenue and International Boulevard.

A black Chevrolet sedan caused a hit-and-run collision with a bus while attempting a sudden U-turn from the general lane, crossing directly in front of the southbound bus, officials reported. Despite braking, the bus struck the sedan, which then fled the scene. 

The bus, carrying around 50 passengers during rush hour, had one teenage rider suffer minor injuries after falling during the crash. The teen, who was conscious and able to walk, was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The bus driver, experiencing arm pain, was also transported for medical attention. Other passengers left the scene on their own. 

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is working to identify the vehicle involved.
