BOTHELL, WA (May 27, 2021) – Wednesday morning, two people suffered injuries in a DUI crash on Interstate 405 and State Route 527.
 
According to reports, the troopers and medics responded to the scene at about 10:00 a.m. Moreover, it happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 405, south of State Route 527.
 
The suspected DUI driver reportedly crashed into a state Department of Transportation truck. As a result, responders transported the alleged DUI driver and the DOT driver to Harborview Medical Center. Both of them were listed in serious condition.
 
Meanwhile, the Washington State Patrol said that the causing driver will be arrested for a DUI investigation upon release from the hospital.
 
Moreover, a preliminary investigation revealed that the DOT truck responded to an earlier crash. It had closed a lane with orange traffic cones. Then, the causing driver crashed through the cones and struck the DOT truck.
 
Due to the limited information available, the crash remains under active investigation.
