22-year-old Lacey Man Arrrested in Interstate 5 DUI Crash
Lacey, WA (March 03, 2022) On Tuesday morning, 2 men were injured in a DUI collision on Interstate 5.
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) says that the “bobtail” crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on the southbound Interstate 5.
The WSP says that a 22-year-old man from Lacey crashed his Subaru Impreza into a semi-truck with no trailer.
Officials say that the southbound Subaru, rear-ended the truck, forcing the truck up a 50-foot embankment where it later rolled onto its side.
Authorities say both occupants of the truck were injured during the crash.
Moreover, a 32-year-old man from Brier suffered injuries to his leg and shoulder.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man from Shoreline had lacerations on his forehead.
Rescuers took both victims to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.
After the crash, the driver and his female passenger walked out of the wrecked Subaru, walking towards the truck initially, then south on the freeway to Exit 111.
Lacey police apprehended both man and woman in the area of Marvin Road Northeast and Hogum Bay Road Northeast.
Officials took them back to the scene of the crash and the man was identified as the driver of the Subaru.
Additionally, police say that both “reeked of alcohol.”
