Two Hospitalized Including a Deputy in Car Crash Near Howe Avenue and Alta Arden Expressway
Arden Arcade, CA (September 3, 2020) – On Tuesday, two people including a deputy were injured in a car crash near the intersection of Howe Avenue and Alta Arden Expressway.
The crash happened just after midnight involving a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy.
California Highway Patrol said a sheriff’s deputy was responding to a call and was traveling northbound on Howe Avenue. When accidentally, their vehicle crashed into a small grey sedan. Reports said the deputy’s lights were on at the time of the accident.
The sedan driver was ejected 30 feet into a parking lot as a result of the crash. He sustained a major head injury. While the sheriff’s deputy sustained minor injuries.
At the same time, an ER doctor was on his way home from work when he encountered the crash. California Highway Patrol said the doctor originally thought the man was dead. Though, he still rendered aid and saved the driver’s life.
Authorities closed Howe Avenue at Alta Arden Expressway through the early morning hours on Tuesday has been reopened.
