Three-Car Wreck on Malaga-Alcoa Highway Injures 2 People
Malaga, WA (September 19, 2020) – A three-vehicle crash on Malaga-Alcoa Highway left two people hospitalized on Thursday morning.
The wreck took place on September 17 at about 6:45 a.m. on Malaga-Alcoa Highway.
According to a report, a 21-year-old Wenatchee man driving a 1994 GMC SUV suddenly crossed the centerline. The SUV avoided a head-on collision with a Chevrolet pickup however, it ends up colliding with a 2017 BMW SUV head-on.
After swerving to dodge the SUV, the 47-year-old driver of Chevrolet continued to rollover.
Jason Reinfeild of the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said that the GMC driver sustained significant injuries from the collision. Medical personnel transported him to the hospital for treatment.
Furthermore, the 51-year-old Malaga woman driving the BMW was also hospitalized.
Reinfeild said the crash closed both directions of the highway for an hour.
Moreover, Reinfeild said it is still unknown why the vehicle crossed the centerline of the highway. The investigation remains on-going.
