Injuries Sustained in North County 4-Vehicle Crash on State Route 79 near Aguanga Ranchos Road
NORTH COUNTY, CA (February 2, 2021) – Sunday night, two people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on State Route 79 near Aguanga Ranchos Road.
The crash involving four vehicles happened at around 6:45 p.m. According to reports, a northbound pickup hauling another pickup on a trailer drove across the oncoming traffic. This incident happened on State Route 79, northwest of Warner Springs, south of Aguanga Ranchos Road.
As a result of the pileup, several people suffered injuries. Meanwhile, some of the vehicles were left on the road while others went off the road.
Moreover, two people sustained moderate to major injuries. Thus, medical responders transported a patient via an ambulance. Meanwhile, an air ambulance took the second patient to a hospital, said Cal Fire San Diego spokesman Frank LoCoco.
LoCoco clarified that despite the dampness on the asphalt, the road wasn’t icy.

Also, the CHP said that a 2000 Ford F-350 truck towing a trailer with another pickup on drove into oncoming traffic. Then, it struck a 2011 Ford Edge SUV and a 2018 Ram 1500. After the crash with other vehicles, the Ford pickup and its trailer veered off the road. As a result, the pickup loaded on the trailer was detached and overturned.
Furthermore, CHP spokesman Officer Travis Garrow revealed that the Ford F-350’s driver was a 47-year-old man from Tustin in Orange County. Meanwhile, the Ford SUV’s driver was a 68-year-old man from Norco in Riverside County. Moreover, the Ram’s driver was a 33-year-old Murrieta man.
At this time, the authorities haven’t identified the injured among the involved parties. However, Garrow clarified that all drivers wore seat belts at the time of the crash. Also, the authorities do not believe that alcohol played a role in the crash.
