Bakersfield, CA (April 25, 2022) On Sunday, a fatal crash on Highway 99 claimed the life of 2 people and caused injuries.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the incident happened just after 2:30 a.m. north of Highway 46.

Reports say that vehicle crashed into the rear of a big rig.

Officials say that 2 people were pronounced dead at the scene and one sustained moderate injuries.

Authorities are investigating the crash and have not released further information about the deceased.
