Injuries Reported after Whittier Two-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 605 and Slauson Avenue
WHITTIER, CA (April 20, 2021) – Monday morning, responders extricated two patients after a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 605 and Slauson Avenue.
According to reports, the CHP responded to the two-vehicle accident at about 12:12 a.m. Moreover, the incident occurred on Interstate 605 South, just past the Slauson Avenue exit.
The CHP CAD confirmed that the crash ejected one person from the vehicle. Responders found the person down in the #2 lane of the southbound 605 Freeway.
Meanwhile, one of the parties involved escaped on foot and remains at large.
Furthermore, the Los Angeles County Fire Department extricated two trapped patients in critical condition. Then, they took them together with another patient to a local hospital via CARE ambulance.
As a result of the crash, Interstate 605 remained closed for around 40 minutes.
