SAN DIEGO, CA (July 13, 2020) – Early Wednesday morning, two female passengers suffered serious injuries in a single-car crash on Fairmount Avenue.
 
The incident occurred at about 12:10 a.m. in the 3100 block of Fairmount Avenue, south of Thorn Street.
 
According to San Diego Police Officer Tony Martinez, a woman drove a northbound 2014 Nissan Sentra with two female passengers. However, she then lost control of the vehicle, hit a sign, and crashed into an unoccupied Mercedes-Benz van.
 
After crashing into the parked car, the driver exited her vehicle and fled on foot.
 
As a result, the 19-year-old front-seat passenger sustained a broken arm, serious head injuries, and a dislocated shoulder and hip. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old back seat passenger sustained serious head injuries and a brain bleed.
