FRESNO, CA (April 24, 2022) – Saturday morning, two men died in a single-vehicle crash on Barstow Avenue and Contessa Avenue.
 
The crash occurred at 12:30 a.m. on West Barstow Avenue and North Contessa Avenue near Island Water Park.
 
According to reports, a dark-colored Jeep driving north on Barstow near Contessa hit a power pole. As a result, it knocked out power to the area.
 
When the officers arrived, they located the Jeep in the middle of the roadway with major damage.
 
Also, the crash ejected four people in the process. Moreover, officers located two men in a nearby dirt field and declared them dead at the scene. Meanwhile, officers found another man in the area who remained conscious and breathing. Responders took him to a hospital in unknown condition.
 
Moreover, officers continue to search for another man and they also consider alcohol and speed as factors in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, the power outage affected about 1,500 PG&E customers.
 
Furthermore, the crash shut down Barstow Avenue, north of Contessa Avenue for several hours during the investigation.
