Driver Arrested after DUI Hit-And-Run Crash on Rosecrans Street in San Diego

San Diego, CA (November 11, 2021) – Thursday morning, two teenage boys sustained injuries in a DUI hit-and-run crash on Rosecrans Street.

The crash in San Diego happened before 4:40 a.m. on November 11, near Lytton Street.

San Diego police said the driver was heading north on Rosecrans Street near Lytton Street in the Loma Portal neighborhood near Liberty Station when she ran her Kia Forte into the two men.

The Kia driver was in the right turn lane of Rosecrans when she struck the teens, who were also walking north.

However, after the crash, the driver left her vehicle and ran about two blocks before officers detained her. 

Investigators believe one of the pedestrians was walking in the traffic lane when he was hit. He suffered life-threatening injuries. 

Meanwhile, the second teen was walking either on the side of the road or on the sidewalk when he was struck by the car. He suffered minor injuries.

Police then arrested the Kia driver on suspicions of DUI and hit-and-run.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
