2 Dead in Goleta Auto Accident on Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road

 
GOLETA, CA (August 26, 2021) – Wednesday morning, two people died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road.
 
The incident happened at about 2:17 p.m., CHP public information officer Jonathan Gutierrez confirmed. Moreover, it occurred on Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road.
 
As a Volkswagen traveled north, the driver went across the dirt center divider into the southbound lanes of Highway 101. Then, the driver crashed with a Ford Expedition.
 
“The driver of the Volkswagen and the driver and the passenger of the Ford succumbed to their injuries at the scene and was pronounced deceased by Santa Barbara County Sheriff Coroner’s Office,” Gutierrez said.
 
The County Fire Department came to the scene to put off the vehicle fires. Also, they extricated victims from the wreckage.
 
Meanwhile, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department said that both vehicles caught fire.
