Driver Arrested in SR 512 Fatal Crash
Tacoma, WA (June 3, 2024) – Two people lost their lives following a State Route 512 DUI crash early Sunday morning.
It was about 2 a.m. when the fatal collision happened near Canyon Road and 31st Street.
WSP officers said a 23-year-old Tacoma woman and her baby crashed head-on with a vehicle occupied by three people.
Two of the three occupants in the victim vehicle were killed at the scene. They were military service members stationed at JBLM.
The paramedics transported the third person in the vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries.
Moreover, the wrong-way driver was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries. The authorities later arrested her for DUI and faces vehicular homicide charges. Her baby was transported with non-fatal injuries and is expected to be fine.
The authorities are investigating this fatal collision.
