Kansas City, Mo (December 21, 2024) – On Saturday, two people died in a crash on 23rd and Stark Avenue.

A speeding vehicle caused a rollover collision near a hazardous Kansas City intersection, resulting in the tragic deaths of two individuals. 

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department reported that emergency crews responded to the scene at 23rd and Stark Avenue, near Highland Cemetery, shortly before 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21.

First responders arrived to find a gray two-door Honda that had been traveling west on 23rd Street at a high speed. 

The vehicle veered off the roadway and struck an embankment, triggering a series of rollovers.

Investigators revealed that neither occupant of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt, leading to both being ejected from the car during the crash. 

One person succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the other passed away at a nearby hospital.

This tragic incident marks the 91st and 92nd crash fatalities in Kansas City in 2024 and is the third serious or fatal accident at this intersection within a year. 

Authorities have not yet released further details about the incident.
