2 Dead in Cerritos Multi-Vehicle Accident on 91 Freeway and 605 Freeway

CERRITOS, CA (September 2, 2024) – Sunday morning, 2 people died in a brutal multi-vehicle crash on 91 Freeway and 605 Freeway.

The incident occurred at around 6:35 a.m. on the road connecting the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway to the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, the California Highway Patrol revealed.

Two people were confirmed dead.

Paramedics were sent to the scene at 6:40 a.m., where they transported at least two individuals to the hospital, according to a spokesperson from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The accident involved a white pickup truck, a silver pickup truck, and a big rig, with at least one person trapped inside one of the vehicles.

All eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway at the 605 Freeway were shut down at 6:54 a.m., and the roadway was fully reopened by 11:38 a.m.
