2 Killed in High-Speed Collision on Country Club Road [El Paso, TX]

El Paso, TX (June 18, 2023) – Early today, a driver and front-seat passenger lost their lives following a high-speed collision on Country Club Road.

The fatal crash took place shortly before 3 a.m. along the 500 block near Memory Lane in the Upper Valley neighborhood,

Responding officers located the driver and front passenger dead at the scene. The authorities identified them as males in their late teens to early 20s.

Moreover, a preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle was driven at a high rate of speed along the painted center median of Country Club Road. The driver approached a roundabout and hit a landscape boulder and a traffic sign.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to veer to the right and up on the curb. Afterward, the vehicle also struck a tree and that impact forced the car back to the center of the roadway.

The responding medical team transported all the back passengers to local hospitals with various injuries. The victims ranged in age from 18 years old to 61 and were all from Mexico. Officers said that three of them were sitting on the laps of other passengers.

Meanwhile, the investigators found out that the vehicle had previously evaded authorities in New Mexico.

Officers are investigating the cause of the Upper Valley fatal collision.
