Bakersfield Police investigate Double Fatality Crash on Hosking Avenue

Bakersfield, CA (March 5, 2023) – On Saturday morning, a fiery 2-car collision on Highway 99 left 2 people dead.

CHP says that the double fatality crash happened at around 3 a.m. in the Hosking Avenue area of Highway 99.

Bakersfield PD and CHP responded to the scene and found the collision involved a Honda passenger car and a Dodge pickup truck.

Reports indicate that the Honda driver failed to stop at a dead-end and was struck by the Dodge pickup on the southbound lane. The crash caused the Honda to burst into flames. 

Authorities say that 2 Honda passengers, an adult male, and a 15-year-old female passenger, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the Honda driver managed to self-extricate from the fiery wreck, the driver sustained serious injuries.

Officials are investigating the fiery 2-car collision, no other details are available at this time.
