2 Killed in Pursuit Crash on State Route 905 [Otay Mesa, CA]

Otay Mesa, CA (October 23, 2024) – Two people were fatally injured in a pursuit crash on State Route 905 Thursday afternoon.

It was past 2:20 p.m. when the pursuit involving U.S. Border Patrol agents ended in a collision on the westbound freeway.

Troopers said a four-door Infiniti G35 was speeding when it crashed into a Caltrans truck that was parked on the side of the road. 

The Infiniti rolled over at least once and landed on its roof while the Caltrans truck ended in a poor condition and was towed away.

Three people were in the Infiniti during the collision. Troopers said two occupants were killed with one of them being found dead after being thrown from the sedan.

Another occupant was taken to Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest with critical injuries.

Troopers are conducting a further investigation into the Otay Mesa fatal crash.
