2 Dead and 2 Injured in Lakeside Auto Accident on Interstate 8 and Lake Jennings Park Road

LAKESIDE, CA (February 15, 2022) – Saturday, two people died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 8 and Lake Jennings Park Road.

The incident happened at about 2:00 a.m. on Interstate 8 and Lake Jennings Park Road.

After the crash, a 46-year-old passenger managed to exit and walked away to look for help. Then, CHP officers and Lakeside Fire Department personnel helped the man. However, he claimed that he had been assaulted and not involved in a crash. Meanwhile, the investigation revealed that he was lying. Responders took the man to a hospital for treatment.

At about 6:15 a.m., the authorities received reports of a wrecked car on the west side of Interstate 8.

CHP confirmed that the driver and a 51-year-old female passenger succumbed to their injuries. At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed their identities.

Meanwhile, officers also extricated a 49-year-old male passenger from the wreck. Then, they took him to the hospital with major injuries.

Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone who witnessed the incident to call the El Cajon CHP office at (619) 401-2000 to talk with investigators.
