2 Dead in Madera County Single-Vehicle Accident on Highway 99 and Avenue 18
MADERA COUNTY, CA (February 6, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, two people died in a fiery crash on Highway 99 and Avenue 18 in Madera County.
The incident occurred just after 5:00 p.m. on Highway 99 just before the northbound Avenue 18 and a half exit.
According to the CHP, a Toyota driver crashed and caused the car to overturn. Then, it landed in a creek embankment on its roof.
Also, investigators confirmed that the vehicle caught fire and both occupants succumbed to injuries at the scene.
Madera County firefighters responded to put off the flames.
At this time, the authorities haven’t determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
Also, they haven’t disclosed the identity of the driver and the passenger.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the cause of the crash. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
