CHP Investigate Fatal Crash on Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe
South Lake Tahoe, CA (November 28, 2024) – Thursday night, two people died in a head-on crash on Highway 50.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. east of Audrain Way.
According to CHP, a 2001 Toyota Sequoia traveling west collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse heading east in the eastbound lane.
The collision resulted in the deaths of the Chevrolet’s driver, an 84-year-old man from Wellington, Nevada, and a 50-year-old woman from Fremont, who was a passenger in the Sequoia.
The Toyota’s driver sustained major injuries, while three of the vehicle’s passengers suffered moderate injuries. Emergency responders transported all injured individuals for medical treatment.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash and the events leading up to it.
