2 Killed in 5 Freeway Fiery Crash [Boyle Heights, CA]

Boyle Heights, CA (February 26, 2024) – Two people sustained fatal injuries following a 5 Freeway fiery crash early Sunday morning.

The solo-vehicle collision happened at 2:45 a.m. on the northbound freeway near the Calzona Street offramp.

Investigators said a black SUV struck the right shoulder wall and caught fire.

Sadly, two people were declared deceased at the scene and third was transported with critically injuries.

Troopers closed Calzona Street offramp for at least three hours as they investigated the scene.
