Two Men Fatally Injured after Vehicle Crashes into Apartment Building near Rancheria Road
DIAMOND BAR, CA (September 11, 2018) – Two people were killed late Tuesday evening and another was hospitalized following a solo-car crash on Golden Springs Road. The identities of the victims were not immediately disclosed, pending notification of family.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place at about 11:40 PM in the 23600 block of Golden Springs Drive, near Rancheria Road.
The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed as it approached a curve. It lost control, hit a curb, and went airborne before crashing into the side of an apartment building.
Two men inside the vehicle sustained fatal injuries, and were pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, a third occupant was transported to a hospital in critical, but stable, condition. One of the residents at the apartment also received treatment for minor injuries.
Diamond Bar city building inspectors yellow-tagged three units, meaning residents could retrieve their items from inside, but could not stay in there. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and to identify possible contributing factors. No further details about the incident have been released.
