Two Women Fatally Injured in Truck Crash near Valley Oak Drive

IRVINE, CA (September 13, 2018) – Two people were killed Wednesday morning and another was injured following a two-vehicle collision on Oak Canyon. The identities of the victims were not immediately released, pending notification of family members.

As per reports, the incident took place shortly after 10:00 AM near Valley Oak Drive. An SUV stopped at a stop sign to prepare for a left turn. As it proceeded to turn, the SUV entered the path of an oncoming box truck.

The two vehicles collided, fatally injuring two women inside the SUV. A third occupant was rushed to a hospital with moderate injuries. Witnesses claimed that the victims were elderly women.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities believe that the truck had the right of way, as there was no stop sign in the area where it was driving. However, an investigation is still ongoing to verify these claims and to identify possible contributing factors.
