2 Dead in Tolleson Car Crash on El Mirage Road
TOLLESON, AZ (August 8, 2020) – Wednesday afternoon, two kids died in an auto accident on El Mirage Road near Tolleson.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office revealed that a Chevrolet Silverado driver headed north on El Mirage Road. However, the driver failed to yield at the stop sign at Southern Avenue.
The authorities added that El Mirage Road has a stop sign for drivers. Unfortunately, for eastbound and westbound motorists on Southern Avenue, there’s no stop sign.
As a result, the pickup driver crashed into an eastbound sedan on Southern Avenue.
The authorities revealed that a mother and her two children occupied the car. Unfortunately, both the 10-year-old and a 12-year-old succumbed to injuries.
The crash ejected one of the juveniles into the thick desert shrubs. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and utilized an excavator to look for the child. Meanwhile, responders transported the mother to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Furthermore, the truck driver was uninjured. After being taken to the hospital, he was later released.
