ATV Accident in Fresno Injures 2 Children
FRESNO, CA (August 08, 2019) – An ATV accident at Yokut Road and Saltgrass Road Tuesday evening sent two boys to the hospital.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred southeast of Lemoore before 8 p.m. Four children — two boys and two girls — were driving a Gator-style ATV when the quad overturned into a slough containing three feet of water.
The two girls managed to get out of the ATV and ran for help. However, the two boys got stuck underneath the vehicle.
Adults in the area rushed to the slough. They administered CPR on the boys who each had a pulse but were not breathing.
The CHP said the two boys are brothers, ages six and four. They were sent to Adventist Health in Hanford with unknown injuries.
Road accidents can happen anytime, anywhere, and to anyone. When using ATVs, it is important to wear the proper protective gear to ensure your safety. If you’re behind the wheel, stay alert and keep an eye out for possible hazards. Avoid accidents at all costs by driving defensively.
