Two Hospitalized after SUV Pushes Pickup Truck into Idyllwild Gift Shop

IDYLLWILD, CA (August 21, 2018) – Two people were hospitalized after a vehicle crashes into gift shop on North Circle Drive.

As per reports, the incident happened at about 1 PM near Park Lane. A tan SUV did not stop at a stop sign and collided head-on with a Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The impact pushed the pickup backward through the Idyllwild Gift Shop.

An employee received a cut lip and did not sustain internal injuries. However, she was still transported to an area hospital for medical evaluation. Meanwhile, the man driving the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he is expected to recover.

No one was shopping at the store at the time of the crash. It was also determined that the pickup truck belonged to the owners of the gift shop. In addition, an estimated total of $5,000 in merchandise was damaged.

Further details were not provided to the public at this time, as an investigation is ongoing.
