2 Hospitalized in Aguanga Accident on Highway 371 and Highway 79
AGUANGA, CA (October 14, 2021) – Wednesday morning, two people sustained injuries in a tanker crash on Highway 371 and Highway 79.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Moreover, it occurred at the junction of Highways 371 and Highway 79.
Reports revealed that a sewage tanker truck hauled about 2,300 gallons of sewage. Then, it attempted to cut the turn too close and lost control. Afterward, the truck tipped over and landed on a Ford Expedition.
Officials confirmed that the sewage spilled in the road after the crash.
Furthermore, responding firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated one person trapped inside the SUV. Then, paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital via helicopter with serious injuries. Meanwhile, responders transported another patient to a hospital with critical injuries.
Moreover, the truck driver sustained no injuries in the crash.
Furthermore, a hazardous materials unit responded to the scene to clean up the chemicals from the tanker.
