Injuries Reported in Midland Auto Accident on B Street and Wadley Barron Park
MIDLAND, TX (July 9, 2024) – Early Monday morning, 2 juveniles suffered injuries in a startling single-vehicle crash on B Street at Wadley Barron Park.
The crash happened at 6:30 a.m. when the juveniles’ mid-size sedan veered into the duck pond at Wadley Barron Park.
Meanwhile, the Midland Police Department reported that a 17-year-old female driving a Lincoln MKZ southbound on B Street lost control, causing the vehicle to hop a curb on the northwest side of the park and become fully submerged in the Duck Pond.
City officials managed to extract the vehicle from the pond at approximately 9:10 a.m. The driver initially tried to flee the scene but was apprehended about a block away, according to MPD.
Then, both juveniles in the vehicle sustained minor injuries, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
