2 People Injured in Startling Auto Accident on Otay Mesa Road [San Diego County, CA]

Injuries Reported in San Diego County Traffic Crash on Otay Mesa Road and Paseo De La Fuente

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (September 23, 2024) – Last September 14, a startling auto accident on Otay Mesa Road injured 2.

Reports said that the incident occurred at about 5:44 a.m. on Otay Mesa Road and Paseo De La Fuente.

A male was asleep in his parked vehicle on a dead-end dirt road at the eastern end of Otay Mesa Road, an area where several vehicles and homeless individuals are located. 

A female driver, speeding eastbound on Otay Mesa Road, ran a stop sign at the intersection, entered the dirt road, and collided with the male’s Ford while he was still inside. 

Then, the Honda continued, crashing into a truck and hitting additional vehicles. Both the male and female were transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. 

The female driver informed firefighters that she believed she had fallen asleep and didn’t recall the crash.
