Driver and Passenger Critical after Crash on Poway Road in San Diego

San Diego, CA (August 25, 2022) – Thursday night, a 19-year-old driver and her 17-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries in a solo vehicle crash on Poway Road.

The crash in San Diego happened at around 8:50 p.m. on August 25 near Sabre Springs Parkway.

San Diego Police said the driver was speeding east, toward Poway, at the wheel of a 2009 Honda Civic when she tried to switch lanes at high speed and lost control of the car.

The car jumped a curb and hit two trees, badly damaging and splitting apart the vehicle.

EMS took the two occupants to a hospital in critical condition.

Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Further investigation to determine the circumstances of this crash is ongoing.
