Two Unidentified Victims Hurt in Big-Rig Collision near Interchange in Riverside
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 26, 2020) – Sunday morning, two people were injured in a semi-truck accident on the 215 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol say the crash happened around 8:00 AM, at the downtown Riverside interchange. However, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear.
According to reports, one vehicle was pinned under the semi-truck following the impact. The driver of the vehicle was able to self-extricate himself. However, the front passenger had to be extracted by firefighters using extrication tools.
The victims suffered minor to moderate injuries.
Moreover, the surrounding area on 215 Freeway was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary investigation. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
Police did not announce further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident.
