2 Hurt in Victorville Car Crash on Village Drive
VICTORVILLE, CA (November 18, 2019) – Two people suffered injuries in a rollover crash on Village Drive on November 16.
The incident occurred at 4:22 p.m. on Village Drive near Vasquez Street. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies, AMR, and Victorville City Fire came to the scene and located a black Nissan Altima with major damage.
A male occupant managed to get out of the vehicle before emergency crews came. Meanwhile, crews extricated a 17-year-old male from the wreckage.
Responders flew the teenage to a trauma center with unknown injuries. Meanwhile, the other person went to the hospital as a precaution.
Johanna Espinosa, a witness of the crash, said, “As I drove on Village Drive toward Vasquez Street, I noticed a white van that was pulled over to the right, but not all the way over. As I passed van, I noticed the van making a U-turn in my rearview, and the next thing I saw was the black car flipping.”
According to Espinosa, the driver who made the U-turn briefly stopped for a few seconds before escaping the scene.
“He stopped because he knew what happened, but he left,” Espinosa added.
Furthermore, another witness followed the white van into Adelanto until authorities made contact with the driver.
It’s unclear whether the white van’s driver received a citation.
