Two Deputies Hurt after Crash on Alessandro Boulevard in Moreno Valley
Moreno Valley, CA (May 11, 2022) – On Tuesday, two deputies sustained injuries when a fleeing suspect crashed into their patrol car on Alessandro Boulevard.
Subsequently, police arrested 23-year-old Ramiro Benitez of Moreno Valley on suspicion of assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon, reckless driving, and obstruction of justice.
Moreover, the crash in Moreno Valley happened on May 10.
Reportedly, Benitez allegedly fled from sheriff’s deputies who tried to pull him over for road stunts in Moreno Valley and crashed into a backup patrol unit at an intersection.
Two deputies sustained minor injuries.
Benitez abandoned his vehicle, then fled the scene on foot. He was located in a nearby backyard and taken into custody without further incident.
Benitez is being held in lieu of $1 million bails and is currently booked into Riverside’s Robert Presley Detention Center.
