Sergio Regalado Arrested after DUI Crash near South Baldwin Avenue
ARCADIA, CA (November 5, 2018) – Two people were injured Monday evening following a police chase crash on Huntington Drive.
The chase started at about 9:13 PM near Los Robles Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Patrol units attempted to pull a possible DUI driver over, but the vehicle sped off. Due to the reckless driving of the suspect, the police helicopter had to take over the pursuit.
A short time later, the vehicle slammed into two vehicles at Huntington Drive and South Baldwin Avenue. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Sergio Regalado, was hospitalized after suffering minor injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence with prior convictions and for felony evading. Regalado is currently being held at the Sheriff’s Temple Station Jail.
Meanwhile, a woman in one of the vehicles was also transported to a hospital after sustaining unspecified injuries. Updates confirmed that she was released after receiving treatment. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify other possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released to the public, once it becomes available.
