CHULA VISTA, CA (November 4, 2021) – Wednesday morning, two people sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash on C Street near Fifth Avenue.

According to Chula Vista Lt. Rusty Rea, witnesses called in the crash at around 10:50 a.m. on C Street near Fifth Avenue.

Reports revealed that a red car traveled at a high rate of speed. Then, it struck a worker standing behind a parked AT&T truck. The force of the crash trapped the victim under the car.

Moreover, a bystander rushed to the scene with a carjack. Officers and firefighters managed to extricate the victim from under the vehicle.

Furthermore, officials confirmed that the victim’s legs were amputated in the incident.

Meanwhile, the crash closed a section of C Street for several hours.
