2 Hospitalized after Santa Maria Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 1
SANTA MARIA, CA (July 22, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 on July 19.
The crash involved a minivan and two farm tractors. The multi-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 1 about a mile and a half west of Black Road.
Meanwhile, County Fire spokesman Mike Eliason revealed that the minivan steered off the highway. After that, the minivan hit the two farm tractors parked on the right shoulder.
Authorities extricated both occupants from the vehicle, Eliason added.
An AMR ambulance transported the elderly male driver in critical condition to Marian Regional Medical Center. In addition, a second AMR ambulance transported the female passenger to Marian for treatment of major injuries.
Authorities briefly shut down the Black Road while crews worked at the scene. As a result, the County Fire with two engine companies and the Santa Maria Fire Department both responded. In addition, County Sheriff’s Office units also assisted.
The Santa Maria Area of the California Highway Patrol investigates the crash.
