2 Hurt in Cajon Pass Multi-Vehicle Crash on 15 Freeway
CAJON PASS, CA (July 22, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a major pile-up crash on northbound 15 Freeway on July 20.
The multi-vehicle crash happened around 6:14 a.m. According to some reports, the sun’s brightness made it hard to see vehicles. As the collision continued, vehicles began piling up. As a result, a vehicle landed on its side with a possible fuel leak.
At about 6:14 a.m. the California Highway Patrol incident logs recorded a crash involving 3-4 vehicles. Additional reports stated the sun was bright and hard to see vehicles.
The incident involved 10-15 vehicles that blocked all lanes of the freeway.
Meanwhile, the San Bernardino County Fire treated two patients. They took one patient to a local hospital while the other declined medical treatment.
The CHP reopened the no. 5 lane. Unfortunately, motorists still suffered from a major back-up for at least 10 miles.
The police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
