BAYSIDE, CA (November 4, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a startling traffic crash on Highway 101 near Bayside Cutoff injured 2 people.

The incident happened around 2:25 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 near the Bayside Cutoff. 

The roadway has been cleared of vehicles and debris, though traffic remains slow in the area, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. A blue 2023 Hyundai Elantra was among the vehicles involved. Scanner reports from first responders indicate that two individuals—one from each vehicle—sustained moderate injuries. 

The CHP has now classified this as a major injury accident.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
