Injuries Reported in Fresno County Vehicle Crash
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (October 2, 2024) – Tuesday, 2 people suffered injuries in a startling auto accident in Fresno County.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a car went airborne over a 20-foot canal, flipping upside down and soaring 60 to 80 feet before crashing into an almond tree. The impact ejected both the driver and passenger from the vehicle.
According to CHP, the passenger, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, sustained broken bones, while the driver, despite wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the car when it struck the tree while inverted. Both men survived the accident.
CHP stated that the two men lay stranded for four to five hours in the cold, unable to seek help, until a farmer found them. Speed was cited as a factor, and alcohol is also suspected to have contributed to the crash.
Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
