Injuries Reported in Rancho Murieta Auto Accident on Jackson Road and Murieta Drive
RANCHO MURIETA, CA (July 30, 2024) – Monday night, 2 people suffered injuries in a police chase crash on Jackson Road and Murieta Drive.
At about 8:15 p.m., a vehicle fire on Jackson Road and Murieta Drive was initially reported.
The California Highway Patrol reported that an officer noticed a speeding car in Amador County and tried to pull it over. However, the driver didn’t stop, leading to a high-speed chase. The car sped north on Highway 49 before turning west onto Highway 16 and eventually entering Sacramento County. The pursuit ended when the fleeing car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Murieta Parkway.
Authorities discovered five injured individuals at the scene. Two sustained critical injuries, while two others had minor injuries. One person refused medical treatment. An Amador County CHP officer assisted in extracting the driver and a female passenger from the pursued vehicle, both of whom had major injuries. In the other vehicle, three adults were found with moderate injuries. All injured parties were transported to a nearby hospital. Investigators are still determining whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
