High-Speed Police Chase Crash Injures Suspect and Passenger on East Hammer Lane
STOCKTON, CA (August 20, 2019) – Two people suffered injuries in a police chase crash on Hammer Lane, Tuesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the chase started near the Crosstown Freeway when a patrolling officer noticed a Nissan breaking the law. When the officer attempted to stop the driver, the vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed.
A short time later, the vehicle exited East Hammer Lane. There, it collided with a white BMW, knocking the engine out of the car. Then, the debris from the collision caused damage to a third vehicle, a red Chevrolet Cruze.
Emergency responders transported the suspect and a passenger to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The driver of the BMW suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the Chevrolet did not sustain injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
