Injuries Reported in Kirksville Auto Accident on Highway 63 and Hungry Hollow Road
KIRKSVILLE, MO (December 5, 2024) – Tuesday morning, an alarming 2-vehicle crash on Highway 63 injured 2 men.
The incident involving two vehicles happened at 9:48 a.m. on Highway 63 at Hungry Hollow Road, four miles north of Kirksville, Missouri.
A 2024 Subaru Crosstrek and a 2018 Peterbilt garbage truck were involved in a crash, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Subaru, driven by a 26-year-old man from St. Peters, Missouri, sustained total damage and was towed by Kirksville Autoworks. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center by Adair County Ambulance.
The Peterbilt garbage truck, driven by a 47-year-old man from Moberly, Missouri, had minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene. The driver, also wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital by Adair County Ambulance.
Officials stated the Subaru struck the garbage truck from behind. Trooper Snyder and the Adair County team assisted with the response.
