Suspected Arrested after San Diego Auto Accident on State Route 94 and Kelton Road

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 26, 2020) – Monday morning, two people suffered injuries in a high-speed chase crash on State Route 94 and Kelton Road.
 
According to rep[orts, a driver didn’t pull over for a suspected traffic violation. Thus, the police began a high-speed chase that ended in a rollover crash.
 
The authorities confirmed that the Mercedes sedan fell into a gully next to the state Route 94 at the Kelton Road exit. This incident in Emerald Hills occurred at about 7:30 a.m.
 
Meanwhile, responders extricated the driver and a teenage passenger from the car. They transported them to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
 
Reports confirmed that a police officer tried to stop the driver as he traveled south on Fairmount Avenue near Sumac Drive. However, the driver fled and went to eastbound state Route 94 while speeding.
 
“It looks like the car did not negotiate the turn onto the on-ramp to get back onto 94,” San Diego police Lt. Christian Sharp said. Moreover, the vehicle “launched itself off into the gully… where it rolled a couple of times.”
 
After overturning, the car caught fire but firefighters managed to immediately put it off.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of evading police. At this time, the authorities are still investigating whether the vehicle was stolen.
 
Moreover, the crash shut down the east on-ramp from Kelton Road while crews worked at the scene.
