HESPERIA, CA (December 26, 2021) – Saturday morning, two people suffered injuries in a head-on crash on State Route 138 near Coriander Drive.
 
The crash occurred at around 7:15 a.m. on State Route 138 between Coriander Drive and Summit Post Office Road.
 
San Bernardino County Fire came to the scene and found a silver Dodge Avenger and a black Honda Accord. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage.
 
After the crash, two people sustained critical injuries and one of them would require extrication. Then, responders request two helicopters to the scene. However, one was later canceled.
 
A Mercy Air helicopter transported one of the injured male drivers to a trauma center. Meanwhile, a ground ambulance transported the other male driver to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
 
California Highway Patrol officers closed the two-lane highway to allow a major accident investigation.
 
Moreover, the crash led to the closure of east and westbound lanes of Highway 138 between Wagon Train and Summit Valley Road. The roadway reopened in both directions at around 9:44 am.
 
Furthermore, the authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
